My Writing 2015 Term 1 & 2

Abseiling
I edge closer to the door, harness strapped ready to go. I say to myself “don’t look down!”, I take tiny steps down the wall while Maddie says “you’re doing great! You’re going super fast!”. Butterflies flutter inside my tummy as I slink nervously down the wall. I jump down backwards, I go at fantastic, fiery speed. I hear Gretel say “Keep going!”, I jump, jumping, jumping, jumping ‘Phew’, I say. I have reached the bottom! By Anna

The Fall
The ice cold air whips across my face as I stumble in the wind of this stormy day: I move onwards to the rock. I’m on the rock, finally. The wind howls, as I stagger upwards. The wind is so strong I shake and stumble, wobbling, it feels as if I’m going to fall… but luckily, somehow I cling on to the rock. But, I’m still unstable, teetering and then I start to fall: falling, falling and falling, busy blurs, sand flies, ocean howls and I thud to the ground. OUCH!! My knee is bursting with red. I close my eyes, I feel dizzy, blackness swirls around, I flicked my eyes open and I wonder, Did That Happen?

The Accident
The warm sun blares in my eyes, as I grip on to the rope. I’m halfway up, Oh no, I loose my grip. I tumble down the climbing wall, strangers stare, my face smashed, my body fights through, friends run, shouting for mum, shouting for Kate. THUMP! I’ve hit the hard bark, OUCH!! An arrow of pain strips through me. My lungs aren’t working, I can’t breathe! I try to stand but my legs won’t work. Then I hear someone coming, it’s Kate. She picks me up and carries me to safety! Mum is coming in the distance, a wave of shock on her face. “Ow, my ankle really hurts”, I complain to mum, she carrys me to rest by our picnic area. That’s better, I say to myself. I end up in A&E with my ankle in a strap and I got crutches!

The Trouble With Me By Anna
I see it, there, the box of chocolates, waiting for me. I edge closer, listening for the adults, I think it’s clear... Wait, no here comes dad, “Hi dad”, I say in my most innocent voice. “Hi”, he replies, looking at me suspiciously. Dad puts his dishes away in the sink and goes back outside to join the others. PHEW!, I may continue on my mission. I edge closer to the box of chocolates. Closer, closer, closer I tell myself. I reach out my hand and grab the lid, I snatch it open and I take a while as I pick my favourite, “Hmmm, which one?”, I say to myself. I pick the crunchie, I rip off the rapper and enjoy the sweetness and gooeyness of the crunch in my mouth, mmm….. Mission Accomplished!!

 Silly Story
“Do you two longans want to come to the supermarket with me?”. Soaking wet and still exhilarated after all the fun of the water fight, we looked up, it was mum, standing on the deck looking down at us. We thought about the question, hmmm, it might be fun. “Okay we’ll come”, I shouted up to her. We raced to my bedroom to get some clothes on, we hurried pulling skirts over our togs, we raced up to the car, not even bothering with our shoes. Standing, staring at all the isles in New World, mum called to us, “Can you two girls go and get__?”, before mum finished her sentence we raced off around New World, shouting and screaming, zig-zagging in and out of the isles like two crazy, clockwork bunnies. Then we stopped. Dead. Frozen. A little girl standing in front of us, brown hair. Face full of freckles. Looked familiar. She caught our eyes and looked at us, wait, no, STARED at us! We raced off again up to the chocolate and lollie ilse, then a flash of memory struck me through my mind, uh oh, now I know who the girl was, it was Emma Mckenzie; it was her that was staring at us. We turned around to see if she was still there, she stared back, we hoped she didn’t recognize us. After that we started the Looney-Pooney club!
